what is a Panic Attack?
It is the abrupt onset of intense fear(feeling that something bad is going to happen). Panic attacks typically reach their peak level of intensity in 10 minutes or less and then begin to subside. But do not worry as it is a highly treatable disorder. They can strike at any time when you are driving a car, at the mall, sound asleep etc. But these attacks are physically harmless episodes.
Causes:
Panic disorder.
Social anxiety disorder.
Stress Disorder.
Depression.
Drug use.
Smoking.
Psychological stress.
Nutrient deficiency.
Symptoms:
Trembling.
A sensation of shortness of breath.
Sweating.
Chest pain or Discomfort.
Nausea.
Chills or heat sensation.
Feeling of dizziness.
In those with frequent attacks counseling or medications may be used. Although panic attacks themselves are not life-threatening, they can be frightening or significantly affect your quality of life. Their treatment can be very effective.
How to avoid Panic Attacks?
Get regular in physical activity which may play a big role in protecting against anxiety.
Have foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as fish, walnuts etc.
Take vitamin D, which can decrease symptoms of anxiety disorders and depression.
Do exercise regularly which will make you feel better.
Orange juice(Have juice daily) and spinach are good for this.
Take frequent small meals.
Discover the trigger.
Make a positive attitude.
Sleep for at least 8 hours.
Take time out each day for enjoyable activities.
Practice meditation.

Ayurvedic remedies for panic attacks:
According to Ayurveda, it is due to Vata imbalance.
Do morning walk.
Do yoga, Pranayama, meditation etc.
Proper rest.
Fresh food.
Chamomile tea twice a day.
Avoid:
Staying awake late in the night.
Food which is difficult to digest like Rajma, Chana, Urad etc.
Soda,chocolates,tea etc.
Processed foods
Saturated and fried foods.
Don't let yourself become so hungry that your blood sugar drops which can lead to an anxiety attack.
Do not eat cold food, always eat warm and cooked food.
Do exercise daily, exercise is a powerful antidote to depression and anxiety. If you exercise on a regular basis you will have more self-esteem and feel healthy.

What should you do during attack time:
Do not take the stress.
Do not fear, symptoms will soon pass.
Stand up and start doing some stretching.
Drink a glass of cold water.
Do deep breathing, focus on deep breaths in and out through your mouth, breath in for a count of four, hold for a second and then breath out for a count of four.
Do light exercise like walking.
Repeat any mantra internally.
