Immunity Booster Drink- Herbal Tea

HOW TO PREPARE IMMUNITY BOOSTER DRINK/ HERBAL TEA:


Kitchen Items you need:

Mortar and Pestle, Pan, Gas Burner or Induction Cook Top.

Ingredients:

Honey

Raw turmeric - 1/2 inch piece ( Or ½ spoon powder if raw turmeric not available)

Ginger - 1/2 inch piece

 Lemon

 Fennel seeds - 1 tbs

 Green Cardamom - 2

 Fresh Mint Leaves- 8 to 10 pieces

 LET'S START

  Add 2 cups of water in a pan.

Put ginger, turmeric, fennel seeds, green cardamom & Mint leaves in the mortal.

Crush it properly.

Add all the crushed material in boiling water.

Boil it for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.

Keep on stirring otherwise, it may boil out of the pan.

Switch off the burner or induction cooktop and cover pan with a lid.

After 5 minutes :

Remove the cover from the pan.

Reheat it before serving.

Add honey in serving cups according to your taste.

Pour the tea in the cups.

Squeeze lemon juice as per taste.

The color of tea will change slightly after adding lemon juice.

Total time to prepare this tea is about 10 minutes only.

 Health Benefits of Herbal Tea:

The antioxidants and vitamins found in herbal tea are a great help in fighting against disease and viral infections. In general, they keep free radicals under control and reduce the risk of cancer. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and prevents heartburn. Turmeric contains curcumin and helps prevent cancer , Alzheimer, depression , arthritis and heart disease. It has anti-inflammatory properties and contains abundant of antioxidants.

 

Q: Is it bad to drink herbal tea every day?

A: You should take this herbal tea/drink in moderation. Excess of everything is bad. You can try variations in Herbal Tea by replacing ginger and turmeric with other variants as given below. Then you can consume it daily instead of regular milk tea.

Take ginger-turmeric herbal tea for 3-4 days; then shift to ajwain leaves for next 3-4 days and then with rose-petals and you can continue this way to harness the maximum benefits of all the herbs.

The other variations of herbal Tea you can try are :

1) Carrom/Ajwain Leaves tea (Appetizer, good for digestion and cough problems).

2)  Guava Leaves tea( manages diabetes,acne,cholesterol , weight loss).

3) Tamarind tea (reverses fatty lever,anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory) .

4) Hibiscus flower tea( Balances  Blood Pressure, Weight loss, Liver health, fights cancer).

5) Rose petal tea(skin & hair health improvement, good for digestion).

6) Tulsi/Basil leaves tea (regulates blood sugar and BP, good for digestion & fever, etc).

7) Mulethi /Licorice tea (relieves respiratory tract, digestion-booster, skin problem).

8) Cinnamon (दाल चीनी)(  Boosts immunity, Improves digestive health.

9) Lemon Grass ( Relieves pain, fever and is anti-oxidant).

10) Eucalyptus leaves ( Anti-bacterial, fights against respiratory disease).

You can try these herbal tea variants along with Saunf, Eliachi, Peppermint or fresh mint leaves.
