Raw mango and fresh Ajwain leaves chutney
Ingredients –
Raw mango - 1
(chopped into pieces)
Fresh Ajwain
leaves – 15-20
Roasted
cumin seeds powder – ½ tsp
Fennel seeds
– 1 tsp
Simple salt
– as per taste
Black salt –
as per taste
Sugar- 1/4th
tsp
Green chilly
- 1-2 or as per taste
Method :
Mix all the
ingredients and grind it properly in the grinder.
Yummy
chutney is ready to eat
It is
sufficient to serve 4- 5 people
Health benefits
of Ajwain leaves –
Ajwain or Ajowan is known in
English as Bishop’s weed . The herb we
use at home is Trachyspermum ammi. There are two other variations which are : Trachyspermum copticum and Carum copticum.
Ajwain leaf
has a sharp thyme like flavor. The main component that gives the leaves its
flavor is thymol and hence the similarity to thyme. These leaves inhibit growth
of pathogens and hence prevent us from many diseases.
It helps improve digestion and stimulates the appetite
in children.
Similar to
the seeds Ajwain leaves also provide relief from stomach problems like
flatulence and other abdominal discomfort, acidity etc.
These are
helpful for treating colds, cough and fever in small children.
It has germicide
,spasmodic and fungicidal properties.
Note – Ajwain
is not suitable for pregnant and lactating mothers or for persons suffering
from some serious health disorder.
It should
also be avoided by persons who are taking medicines for high BP.
