Tips To Reduce Oil Absorption While Deep Frying
1) Always use a clean pan
A burnt pan which has deposits from earlier cooked food will
always lead to excessive absorption of oil, spoil the flavour and make the food
stick. Hence, always take a thoroughly clean pan for frying.
2) Use thin flour coating
Coating with breadcrumbs, oats or flattened rice may absorb
more oil and can inflate calories. So make sure to use a thin, flour based
coating.
3) Parboil
If you are frying vegetables or meat, make sure to parboil
first. It will not just save time, but also reduce oil absorption.
4) Use paper towels
After taking out snacks from frying , make sure to absorb
and wipe oil with paper towels or tissues as it helps reduce the excess consumption.
5) Oil quality
Use oil with a high smoking point for frying to delay
decomposition.
6) Never reuse oil
Do not use the same oil for frying every time as it
increases free radicals in the body, which can cause inflammation.
7) Hot oil
Make sure the oil is hot enough for frying to happen
consistently ,as it would not absorb the leftover oil.
8) Switch to air frying
Air frying is more than 80% healthier than frying in oil as
it significantly cuts calories and has less fat.
