Sattu
It is prepared by roasted dry grains such as Bengal gram , barley, wheat etc. All types of sattu are good in summers. You can use mixture of these three grains for making a very nutritious Sattu . It is good for diabetic , BP high, gas formation , constipation, weak stomach etc. It does not set heavy on your stomach and even detox your body , as it is quite rich in soluble fiber.
Method to prepare

First of all roast the Bengal gram or barley or wheat in a frying pan having sand. Roast it at medium flame for 4-5 minutes until it spurts out. Be careful not to let them burn.
After roasting let it cool down . Now rub it with a neat cloth so that all sand particles shed out . Now sieve it . After sieving grind it and make a powder form . Again sieve it so that un-ground pieces can be taken away. Now put the powder in an airtight container.
How to make sattu’s

Ingredients:-
Sattu ( barley or wheat or Bengal gram) – 1tsp (2 max)
Black salt – ¼th tsp
Roasted and crushed cumin seeds – ¼ th tsp
Black pepper powder – 1/4th tsp
Lemon juice- ½ tsp
Crushed mint leaves – 2-3
Water - 1 glass
Method
Add 1 tsp of sattu in little water to make a fine paste ( no lumps) .Now add remaining water and all the ingredients(mix well) . Serve cool.
Note
You can take readymade sattu ( powdered form) from the market and prepare it by just adding all the ingredients as mentioned above. Now-a-days it is available in most of the departmental stores.
Always take sattu of a good brand.
Non diabetics can also add desi khand ( not refined sugar) in the preparation of sattu.
You can carry the powdered mixture in air tight container. When you want to drink just add chilled water and enjoy this nutritious natural drink.
